Volunteer Information
For more than
100 years, the United Way has maintained a tradition of excellence
in addressing the health and human-service needs of people. That
tradition was created, and is upheld, by volunteers. Volunteers
give of themselves to help fill the needs of others. In a very real
sense, volunteers are the lifeblood of the United Way. Without you,
we would not exist. The Tioga United Way is making a call to your
heart, to give of yourself. By doing that, you will change another
person's life.
On our Member
Agency page is a list of the agencies funded by the Tioga United
Way. Most of these agencies are run by a small group of paid employees
supplemented by many volunteers. If you particularly enjoy working
with children, you could consider volunteering at the Tioga
County Boys and Girls Club or one of the other youth program
agencies. If you like working in the outdoors, the Waterman
Conservation Education Center would welcome your assistance.
The Tioga County Open Door Mission particularly needs volunteers
during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in preparing food
baskets and wrapping children's Christmas presents, and at other
times throughout the year. The American
Red Cross needs volunteers for disaster assistance and for working
at the blood banks throughout our community. This list goes on and
on.
Remember, you
can make a difference!
